Welcome to COHEA Police Criminal Justice Academy!
My name is Sergeant Karen C. Smith, and I am a retired police sergeant from the City of Hialeah Police Department after 22 years of service.
I joined the COHEA family in 2014 as a substitute teacher and after my tenor as a police sergeant with the City of Hialeah Police Department in 2021, I became the Police Criminal Justice Director here at COHEA.
My goal is to implement the importance of education and prepare the students to be career ready as they graduate high school.
Education: Associates of Arts in Criminal Justice (MDCC), Bachelors of Science in Criminal Justice/minor Public Administration (FIU) and a Master in Public Administration/minor in Human Resources Management (FIU)
