Welcome to Speech/Financial Literacy! I am Ms. Sanchez, and I hold a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology and Criminal Justice from Florida International University. This is my second year teaching at COHEA, and my sixth year working for Miami-Dade County Schools. During the first semester of this school year, this class will focus on topics such as speech analysis, rhetoric, and argumentative essay writing. Moving on to the second semester, the course content will cover Financial Literacy. Topics will include banking, behavioral economics, budgeting, career and consumer skills, among others.

Additionally, I teach AICE General Paper 8021. In this course, students will develop critical thinking and analytical skills through the exploration of contemporary global issues; engage with a wide range of texts, media sources, and perspectives; construct clear, well-reasoned, and evidence-based arguments; and communicate ideas effectively in both written and oral forms. Emphasis is placed on evaluating sources, synthesizing information, and responding thoughtfully to social, political, economic, and cultural topics in preparation for the Cambridge AICE assessment.
