Mrs. Leslie Rovirosa is beginning her ninth year as the Accounting Director/Cafeteria Manager at City of Hialeah Educational Academy. She brings to COHEA over 40 years of experience in the field of business accounting.
Mrs. Rovirosa maintains the budget and accounting for COHEA. She is responsible for all aspects of accounting at our school, including: payroll, purchasing, human resources, student fees, and free and reduced lunch.
As our Cafeteria Manager, Mrs. Rovirosa believes that schools play an important role in developing long-lasting healthy eating habits in students, and that this is done by offering nutritional meals. She strongly feels that eating healthier in school improves learning. Mrs. Rovirosa increased the healthy food selections for both our breakfast and lunch programs, and started COHEA’s salad bar. Through her expertise, she acquired over $100 thousand dollars in grants through the National School Lunch program to improve and expand the equipment in our cafeteria.
Mrs. Rovirosa truly believes that business is all about momentum, and she constantly searches for new opportunities to make COHEA run more efficiently and effectively. She continually trains her staff to improve the operational performance at COHEA. As stated by Benjamin Franklin, “An investment in knowledge pays the best interest.” It takes an entire community of people to interact with students to create a safe and healthy learning environment and a successful school. Mrs. Rovirosa and her team are at the forefront everyday to help our school community continue to improve. According to Josh Shipp, “Every kid is one caring adult away from being a success story.”
