Hello parents,

I’m Mrs. Roque, and I am beyond excited to be your child’s science teacher this year! I’ve been teaching science for over 15 years, working with amazing students from 6th to 9th grade. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Science and a Master’s degree in Middle School Science Education, but my favorite “degree” is in sparking curiosity and making science fun!

When I’m not in the classroom, you can usually find me working out, reading, or enjoying time with family and friends. I’m also a big believer that life is better with a little flavor so yes, I love sushi and tacos! My playlist is a mix of all kinds of music, and my bookshelf is stacked with historical non-fiction stories. I’m a proud fan of all Miami sports teams, and I can never say no to a quick trip to Target, TJ Maxx, or Zara. For drinks, I’m an iced coffee and water all day kind of teacher.

This year in science, we’re going to explore four exciting domains:

 Nature of Science 
 Physical Science 
 Earth & Space Science 
 Life Science 

My goal is to make your child fall in love with science by showing them the amazing ways it explains the world around us. We’ll learn through hands-on activities, group projects, discussions, and visuals so whether you’re a “show me,” “let me do it,” or “let me hear it” kind of learner, you’ll feel right at home.

I can’t wait for a year full of curiosity, discovery, and a whole lot of fun. Let’s make this our best year yet!
