For the past 9 years Kristine Gonzalez has become a key component of the COHEA's Student Services Team. Her success is due to her educational preparation, her years of proven success carrying out various responsibilities, and above all her drive to empower the students to achieve. She is driven by a passion for her profession and a genuine love for the students. In the field of education caring about the students at the capacity that she does makes a world of a difference. 
 
Mrs. K. Gonzalez’s career in education began in 2003 upon completing her Bachelors of Science in Specific Learning Disabilities at Florida International University.  Shortly after she was hired at Doral Academy Middle/High School as a Special Education Teacher and had been promoted to Special Education Program Specialist by the end of her tenure. While at Doral Academy Middle/High School she served as the sponsor for the Future Educators Association Club, as the sponsor for the 8th Grade Student Government Association Board and as the sponsor for the Class of 2014 Student Government Association Board. In 2013, she joined the City of Hialeah Educational Academy (COHEA) family where she has become an indispensable member. At COHEA she serves as the C.A.P., Dual enrollment liaison and 12th grade counselor. In addition, she has found time to be the mentor and sponsor of the 12th Grade Student Government Association Board.

Kristine’s contribution to this community lies in every accomplishment and success reached by the COHEA Alumni she has impacted. Aside from fulfilling her duties as Counselor and CAP advisor she finds time to cheer on our students at sporting events, volunteer at extracurricular functions, and help her colleagues in their times of need. When a person’s career is more than just a job there is no telling the heights one will reach. Mrs. Gonzalez was recognized at Doral Academy Middle/High School as the Middle School Teacher of the Year for 2009-2010 and as the High School Teacher of the Year for 2011-2012. She also received the prestigious Office Staff Member of the Year Award from the City of Hialeah.
